Daryl is a Class A Member of the PGA of Canada, and a Brock University Graduate with a Degree in Business Administration. Before accepting the Director of Golf Position at The Marshes at Brookstreet, he was previously employed at notable Premiere Private Clubs, including Credit Valley Golf & Country Club, Burlington Golf & Country Club, and most recently, Cherry Hill Club, where he was the 2015 Stan Leonard Award Winner for the PGA of Canada. Daryl will help to elevate the Golf Experience at The Marshes, for all Members and Guests.
Daryl has a unique teaching methodology, believing that no two swings are alike, but key fundamental positions can be shared amongst golf swings. He has attended numerous ‘Open Forums’ on instruction, investigating the roles of Bio-Mechanics, kinematics, and the different types of swing forces that can affect your game. He also utilizes the most up to date teaching technologies and can explain information in an easy-to-understand platform for all of his students.
A gifted instructor and communicator - Don matches impressive playing credentials (University of Kentucky Golf Scholarship, Canadian Tour, Quebec Amateur Champion, Ottawa City and District Medal and Match Play Champion) with use of the most up-to-date learning systems to make him one of Ottawa’s most sought after instructors.
Rob is a Class A Professional in the PGA of Canada and the Head Coach for our National Junior Development Centre. His golf career began at the Ottawa Hunt Club, followed by 20 plus years at Hylands Golf Club, 15 as Head Professional, and now with The Marshes Golf Club. Throughout this time and going forward, Rob is focused on growing all aspects of the game, particularly supporting juniors. A strong believer in continuous improvement, he has trained with several world renowned golf coaches to fully understand and coach the biomechanically-efficient golf swing being implemented by many of the world’s highest performing golfers.
Rob has been recognized as 2009 Ottawa Valley Club Professional of the Year, is an original member of Titleist Advisory Staff, and holds certifications as for NCCP Coaching New Competitors, Swing Catalyst and as a Club Fitter. Rob represented Canada on the world stage in track and field in his earlier years and continues to use his personal experience to develop athletes and golfers, some of whom themselves have gone on to represent Canada.
Pennie is a Class A Professional in the PGA of Canada who began her career at the Hamilton Golf Club in 1991 before coming to Ottawa as an Associate Professional at several clubs including the Ottawa Hunt Club, Kanata GC, Cedarhill GC and Hylands GC. Her teaching emphasizes solid swing fundamentals, balance, sequence and rhythm that results in consistency and steady golfer improvement. As many of her clients acknowledge, Pennie tailors her coaching by getting to know them, whether it’s their learning style, goals, golfing and/or sports experience. She is also a master with our juniors, making them feel at home and providing coaching in ways that truly engage them. Pennie is constantly improving her knowledge and is proficient with training aids, drills and the latest technology.
Dave is the Coordinator for our National Junior Golf Development Centre, is a Level II Coach-in-Training with The First Tee®, has trained with leading mental skills coaches in the U.S. and continues to develop his knowledge from leading experts around the world. He brings a special perspective and skill set to our team and to our clients that helps them improve regardless of their golf skill level. He has helped young and older clients appreciate themselves, the game of golf and measurably raised their enjoyment. He is passionate about engaging and supporting young people through golf so they have the life and golf skills and healthy habits needed to be successful. He holds a B.Sc., and was one of two student/athletes to be awarded the first Sports Canada scholarships ever offered for golf in 1971. He is the Head Coach for his Alma Mater, Carleton Ravens Golf Program and a volunteer coach with The First Tee of the Coachella Valley.
